Flag Pin?

Obama Decides Flag Pin is Patriotic

Remember the controversy during the presidential election over Barack Obama's refusal to wear a flag lapel pin? Obama stated during the campaign that he didn't wear the American flag pin because it had become a substitute for "true patriotism" since the Sept. 11, 2001 terrorist attacks. See Breitbart.

When Barack was asked about his decision, he said:

"The truth is that right after 9-11 I had a pin. Shortly after 9-11, particularly because as we're talking about the Iraq war, that became a substitute for I think true patriotism, which is speaking out on issues that are of importance to our national security.

"I decided I won't wear that pin on my chest," he said in the interview. "Instead, I'm going to try to tell the American people what I believe will make this country great, and hopefully that will be a testament to my patriotism."

However, Obama must have recently decided that the flag lapel pin is a fitting testament to his patriotism, after all, because in the official presidential photo released yesterday, what do you think Obama is wearing? An American flag lapel pin. You may see for yourself in the enlarged photo below. Courtesy of LA Times.
