You Decide Please read articles by Rich Carroll

Extremely Disturbing - Read And Decide For Yourselves
After I read this, my first thought was “who is Rich Carroll”? Is he some nut trying to scare us? I found this on the internet; you can see he is an educated man, but so are the Obamas. I can only say as the subject line suggests “decide for yourself”. I have been concerned about Obama from the beginning, but I thought maybe I was over reacting. Now, I don’t think so.

Oil reserves?

Note: This was brought up in the Senate Today 9/26/2008

LOOK THIS UP ON SNOPES IT'S TRUE ABSOLUTELY MIND BOGGLING. I HAVEN'T CLOSED MY MOUTH YET. ANYBODY WHO HAS TIME TO READ IT ALL, WILL BE HIGHLY INFORMED..........
AND REMEMBER, THE GOVERNMENT HAS KNOWN ABOUT THIS FOR EONS..........BLESS THEIR LITTLE COTTON-PICKIN' HEARTS. THEY AREN'T OUR BEST FRIEND./

Ever heard of the "Bakken Formation" ? GOOGLE it or follow this link. It will blow your mind.

http://www.usgs.gov/newsroom/article.asp?ID=1911
http://www.snopes.com/politics/gasoline/bakken.asp

The U.S. Geological Service issued a report in April(08) that only scientists and oilmen knew was coming, but man was it big. It was a revised report (hadn't been
updated since '95) on how much oil was in this area of the western 2/3 of North Dakota; western South Dakota;and extreme eastern Montana ... check THIS out:

The Bakken is the largest domestic oil discovery since Alaska's Prudhoe Bay, and has the potential to eliminate all American dependence on foreign oil. The Energy Information Administration (EIA) estimates it at 503 billion barrels. Even if just 10% of the oil is recoverable... at $107 a barrel, we're looking at a resource base worth more than $5.3 trillion.

Law

LAW
This is one of the better e-mails I have received in a long time! I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!! So Be It!
THE LAW IS THE LAW
So if the US government determines that it is against the law for the words 'under God' to be on our money, then, so be it.
And if that same government decides that the 'Ten Commandments' are not to be used in or on a government installation, then, so be it.
I say, 'so be it,' because I would like to be a law abiding US citizen.I say, 'so be it,' because I would like to think that smarter people than I are in positions to make good decisions.I would like to think that those people have the American public's best interests at heart.

BUT, YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE I'D LIKE?
Since we can't pray to God, can't Trust in God and cannot post His Commandments in Government buildings, I don't believe the Government and its employees should participate in the Easter and Christmas celebrations which honor the God that our government is eliminating from many facets of American life.
I'd like my mail delivered on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter.
After all, it's just another day.
I'd like the US Supreme Court to be in session on Christmas, Good Friday, Thanksgiving & Easter as well as Sundays. After all, it's just another day.
I'd like the Senate and the House of Representatives to not have to worry about getting home for the 'Christmas Break.' After all it's just another day.
I'm thinking that a lot of my tax payer dollars could be saved, if all government offices & services would work on Christmas, Good Friday & Easter. It shouldn't cost any overtime since those would be just like any other day of the week to a government that is trying to be 'politically correct.'
In fact....
I think that our government should work on Sundays (initially set aside for worshiping God...) because, after all, our government says that it should be just another day....
What do you all think????

If this idea gets to enough people, maybe our elected officials will stop giving in to the minority opinions and begin, once again, to represent the 'majority' of ALL of the American people.
SO BE IT...........

Please Dear Lord, Give us the help needed to keep You in our country!
Touche!
These are definitely things I never thought about, but from now on I will be sure to question those in government who support these changes. At the top it says 'I hope this makes its way around the USA several times over!!!!!'
Let's see that it does. Keep it in your mailbox and resend it whenever someone new comes along.

P.S. In God We Trust...& God bless you & yours.

Mickey Mouse

Just found this, isn't this sad? Wasn't it the nation of Islam that was responsible for 911?

Sheik: Mickey Mouse 'should be killed'

RIYADH, Saudi Arabia, Sept. 16 (UPI) -- A Saudi sheik has declared Disney animated icon Mickey Mouse "a soldier of Satan" who "should be killed in all cases."

Islamic cleric Muhammad al-Munajid, a former diplomat who once served at the Saudi Embassy in Washington, said during an interview with al-Majd Television that Islamic law declares the mouse as "a repulsive, corrupting creature" and he condemned cartoons that glorify rodents, including Mickey Mouse, Ynetnews reported Tuesday.

"Mickey Mouse has become an awesome character, even though according to Islamic law, Mickey Mouse should be killed in all cases," al-Munajid said.

"The shari'a (Islamic religious law) refers to the mouse as 'little corrupter,' and says it is permissible to kill it in all cases. It says that mice set fire to the house, and are steered by Satan. The mouse is one of Satan's soldiers," he said.

911 Dog

September 15, 2008

PHOENIX (AP) – “Man’s best friend” doesn’t go far enough for Buddy – a German shepherd who remembered his training and saved his owner’s life by calling 911 when the man had a seizure.

And it’s not the first time Buddy has been there for owner Joe Stalnaker, a police officer said Sunday.

On a recording of the 911 call Wednesday, Buddy is heard whimpering and barking after the dispatcher answers and repeatedly asks if the caller needs help.
“Hello, this is 911. Hello … Can you hear me? Is there somebody there you can give the phone to,” says the dispatcher, Chris Trott.

Police were sent to Stalnaker’s home, and after about three minutes Buddy is heard barking loudly when the officers arrived.

Scottsdale police Sgt. Mark Clark said Stalnaker spent two days in a hospital and recovered from the seizure.

“It’s pretty incredible,” Clark said. “Even the veteran dispatchers – they haven’t heard of anything like this.”

Clark said police are dispatched whenever 911 is called, but that Stalnaker’s address was flagged in Scottsdale’s system with a notification that a trained assistance dog could call 911 when the owner was incapacitated.

Home Sprinkler Cost

Cost of installing residential fire sprinklers averages $1.61 per square foot
Middle

A national perspective on the cost of installing residential fire sprinklers is examined in a new report Home Fire Sprinkler Cost Assessment, released by the Fire Protection Research Foundation, an affiliate of the National Fire Protection Association. According to the report, the cost of installing sprinkler systems to the home builder averaged $1.61 per sprinklered square foot. Sprinklered square feet is the total area of spaces with sprinklers.
The cost of sprinkler systems to the home builder, in dollars per sprinklered square foot, ranged from $0.38 to $3.66. This cost includes all costs to the builder associated with the system including design, installation, and other costs such as permits, additional equipment, increased tap and water meter fees ? to the extent that they apply.
"More than 8 in 10 fire deaths occur in homes, yet the likelihood of someone dying in a home fire is cut in half when sprinklers are present," said Gary Keith, NFPA's vice president of field operations. "Installing a home fire sprinkler system is a huge step in the right direction when protecting people and property. This national cost assessment will help jurisdictions, building professionals, insurance companies, the fire service, and members of the general public interested in making informed decisions about home fire sprinklers."

This is new

Just started this blog. Please leave comments of suggestions. I will pass on a related fire news of interest to me or you as I find it. I was a volunteer firefighter for 34 years and now retired from it. Sitting back now and looking at it from the outside can give a different perspective of the dumb things that firefighters do.
