Prohibit Home Sprinklers? Come On!

Trying to squeeze this in the Illinois Senate?
http://www.ilga.gov/legislation/fulltext.asp?DocName=09600SB1980lv&SessionID=76&GA=96&DocTypeID=SB&DocNum=1980&print=true
See the link above for the text for SB 1980 sponsored by Sen. Bill Brady (R-Bloomington).
His family owns a homebuilding business.
The bill would prohibit a county or municipality from adopting a residential sprinkler ordinance.
Please call Senate President John Cullerton at 217-782-2728 and let him know you would like you oppose the bill and would like to see it kept in the Assisgnments Committee.

Thanks for flagging this. It is one of a number of actions popping up around the country aimed at derailing efforts to increase the use of home fire sprinklers. You can see what is happening in other states and find resources to help defeat these efforts at wwww.firesprinklerinitiative.org
These efforts • Weaken public safety
• Ignore the proven impact of home fire sprinklers
• Take away each jurisdiction’s right to decide on critical safety code provisions
• Establish a precedent putting politics above proven safety technology
• Disregard the long established consensus code process
Simply put, they are harmful to the public and to firefighters because we know the lifesaving benefit of sprinklers.
