Farm Accident


WADENA - Two men were killed Wednesday in a farm accident in northeast Wadena County, the Wadena County Sheriff's Department reported.
In a news release, Sheriff Michael D. Carr said Harold W. Skov, 45, and Douglas A. Amundson, 62, were unloading large, round hay bales from a semi-trailer when several bales came off and rolled on top of the men.
Emergency personnel were summoned to the farm about 5:18 p.m. Wednesday in Orton Township in northeast Wadena County.
Skov and Amundson were pronounced dead at the scene.Carr said it was one of the most tragic accidents he's seen in his law enforcement career."These two men's lives will be sadly missed by their families, friends and this small community," Carr said in the news release. "My thoughts and prayers go out to both these families."Assisting the sheriff's department was the Sebeka Fire and Rescue and Tri-County Ambulance.
