The continuing saga of engineered wood products?

Is this yet another instance of engineered wood construction, and failure to recognize it? The following story link shows that the occupants were at home when the fire was discovered and yet the fire progressed enough to have the floors fail. 2 Firefighters Injured In Green Twp. Fire

The article also says that Firefighters reported that flames from the two-alarm fire went up through the walls of the home from the basement into the first and second floors.
