Typical Democrats & the Kennedy’s

I haven’t blogged much on politics letting the democrats have their sink or swim time they are getting close to the deep end and running out of steam. (Looks like they are barely treading water). I just couldn’t pass this up, I hope it doesn’t get me started again. (No Obama, where's the certificate?) Senator Kennedy not doing so well wants to change the rules, doesn't like the way the game is going for his party. It was OK for MN to go without  a Senator for 6 months why can’t Massachusetts? Why can’t Ed’s position sit empty for 5 month? Sen. Edward Kennedy has just asked the Massachusetts state legislature to change the law requiring a state election to fill Senate vacancies. Involved in a battle with cancer, this is a sign the eight-term senator is contemplating retirement. Typical Kennedy doesn’t like the way things would go after he is gone and now want to change the way the replacement is chosen. Maybe Caroline can fill in, no wait, she doesn't live in that state, maybe we could make another exception to the rules? Should be a limit on terms for Senators anyway!

OBAMA RETREATS INTO DEMOCRATIC CIDATEL

By DICK MORRIS & EILEEN MCGANN

Published on DickMorris.com on August 20, 2009

Having stuck his neck out -- through trial balloons suggesting a possible abandonment of the public option -- President Obama is now retreating into Ft. Democrat and relying on his own party members to jam through health care legislation. With 60 Senators and a 76 vote margin in the House, he need not compromise or even listen to Republicans. He can invoke the so-called "nuclear option" and pass his bill in the Senate with just 50 votes and no possibility of real debate, much less a filibuster.

So no matter how low Obama's plan sinks in the polls, he feels that he can rely on his loyal troops to march in lockstep and pass his health care proposals.
